I saw this old truck sitting out in the back area of a farm in Dorchester County and I just had to pull in for a few photographs. No one was home so I went ahead and took my photographs before moving on. I just love shooting this odd old stuff.

The Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge is a span-drive configuration movable lift bridge that was constructed in 1901 to 1905 and was modified in 1929. It was designed by Thomas F. McGilvray and C.A.P. Turner and it was constructed by Modern Steel Structural Company. The original aerial bridge had a gondola car suspended by an inverted steel tower from the underside of the truss. In 1929 they added an elevated roadway to replace the traversing platform.

I was inspired by the aging little island but also saddened by the disrepair of the structures. This home caught my attention and I just had to pull over and take several photographs. I thought it looked best in black & white.

The Art Shop of Ivan Fraser. Located on Peggy's Cove Road in Nova Scotia. Brightly colored, it grabs your attention as you are driving by. Sorry to say that it was closed the day we stopped so I did not get to meet Ivan.

I came across this little "Art Shop" while driving to Blue Rocks during our September 2017 road trip. I didn't get to meet the artist but I imagine he or she would be an interesting person. This is located just outside of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.

As we were traveling around Prince Edward Island during our road trip last month we came across this old dump truck sitting alone in a muddy field. Well, it wasn't really alone. As you can see, some birds had decided to take up roost and make it their own. It was another one of those "Had to Shoot" moments.

As we traveled around Prince Edward Island this past September, we came across a number of these old fishing boats sitting in the tall grasses beside someone's home. I have to ask myself, not really expecting an answer, are they finished their work and resting only to rot away as nature takes hold or are they just waiting to roar back to life once more? We truly enjoyed our time on the island and we look forward to touring the Maritimes of Canada again in the future.

Niagara on the Lakes, Ontario. If you visit Niagara Falls I strongly recommend that you head north to Niagara on the Lakes. Everywhere you look there are vineyards with their beautiful lines and rows. The day we were there the sky had a cloud cover that added such beauty to the scene. This particular photograph was taken at the Three Sisters Winery.

This is another photograph of the Niagara on the Lake area of Ontario. This area is full of vineyards and, to me, they are so beautiful with all the lines and texture that they add to my images.

I was out early this morning to shoot at Prime Hook though there was little bird activity. As I was coming back out of the Fowler Beach area, the new morning sun was striking the side of this barn and it attracted my attention.

I took this photograph during our September road trip to PEI. During our trip we covered most of the island and one of the interesting spots was the North Cape. It is a rocky beach and there were literally hundreds of rock balancing piles that people have done over the years. It was pretty cool to see.

This is a very typical scene on Prince Edward Island. I took this photograph as we were traveling down a side road in the town of Rustico. I think the town name is fitting.

Knoebels Grove at Night. This photograph is a 15 second exposure and I started it with the ride stopped for about the first five seconds. By doing so you can actually see the two cars of the ride along with the trails of lights. Knoebels is a wonderfully old, family run, amusement park located in Elysburg, PA. It was our first stop on our two week journey.

This is another of my "Knoebels at Night" photographs taken during our July road trip. This again is the craziness of the ride "Downdraft". This was taken while there was still light in the sky.

Knoebels at Night. This is another photograph that I took during our recent road trip. Taken as the day was ending and the lights were on at amusement park. The blue, red and black are the lights of the Giant Wheel. You can almost make out the cars on this ride. The crazy lights are that of the "DownDraft". As the lights demonstrate, this ride is not for the faint of heart.

The Art Shop of Ivan Fraser. Located on Peggy's Cove Road in Nova Scotia. Brightly colored, it grabs your attention as you are driving by. Sorry to say that it was closed the day we stopped so I did not get to meet Ivan.

Art Shop of Blue Rocks

I came across this little "Art Shop" while driving to Blue Rocks during our September 2017 road trip. I didn't get to meet the artist but I imagine he or she would be an interesting person. This is located just outside of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. 

Out in Left Field

As we were traveling around Prince Edward Island during our road trip last month we came across this old dump truck sitting alone in a muddy field. Well, it wasn't really alone. As you can see, some birds had decided to take up roost and make it their own. It was another one of those "Had to Shoot" moments.

Out to Pasture

As we traveled around Prince Edward Island this past September, we came across a number of these old fishing boats sitting in the tall grasses beside someone's home. I have to ask myself, not really expecting an answer, are they finished their work and resting only to rot away as nature takes hold or are they just waiting to roar back to life once more? We truly enjoyed our time on the island and we look forward to touring the Maritimes of Canada again in the future.

Vineyards Aplenty

Niagara on the Lakes, Ontario. If you visit Niagara Falls I strongly recommend that you head north to Niagara on the Lakes. Everywhere you look there are vineyards with their beautiful lines and rows. The day we were there the sky had a cloud cover that added such beauty to the scene. This particular photograph was taken at the Three Sisters Winery.

Tregunno Farms

This is another photograph of the Niagara on the Lake area of Ontario. This area is full of vineyards and, to me, they are so beautiful with all the lines and texture that they add to my images.

More of the Vineyards

This scene causes me to think about enjoying a glass of two of wine at the barrel table under the tree while the breeze and the shade keep me cool. Also taken in the Niagara on the Lake area.

Barn of Fowler's Beach

I was out early this morning to shoot at Prime Hook though there was little bird activity. As I was coming back out of the Fowler Beach area, the new morning sun was striking the side of this barn and it attracted my attention. 

One of Many

I took this photograph during our September road trip to PEI. During our trip we covered most of the island and one of the interesting spots was the North Cape. It is a rocky beach and there were literally hundreds of rock balancing piles that people have done over the years. It was pretty cool to see.

The Fields of Rustico

This is a very typical scene on Prince Edward Island. I took this photograph as we were traveling down a side road in the town of Rustico. I think the town name is fitting.

The Rockets

Knoebels Grove at Night. This photograph is a 15 second exposure and I started it with the ride stopped for about the first five seconds. By doing so you can actually see the two cars of the ride along with the trails of lights. Knoebels is a wonderfully old, family run, amusement park located in Elysburg, PA. It was our first stop on our two week journey.

Lights in Action

This is another of my "Knoebels at Night" photographs taken during our July road trip. This again is the craziness of the ride "Downdraft". This was taken while there was still light in the sky.

Craziness

Knoebels at Night. This is another photograph that I took during our recent road trip. Taken as the day was ending and the lights were on at amusement park. The blue, red and black are the lights of the Giant Wheel. You can almost make out the cars on this ride. The crazy lights are that of the "DownDraft". As the lights demonstrate, this ride is not for the faint of heart.

Row Boat of Deep Creek

We spent a couple days in the Deep Creek area of Maryland this past week and visited with our friends Mike and Meribeth. It was a constant overcast sky with rain on and off so we couldn't get out on Mike's Flying Scott. This photograph was taken at the yacht club.
